If you are wanting to become a responsible, respected breeder, then there is much to do to prepare yourself...even as just the stud owner.

Your best bet on that track is going to be to get yourself a well seasoned and accomplished breed mentor. He/she will help you evaluate your dog to determine if he is a quality representation of the breed that should be bred. Also, a mentor can help walk you through the processes of medical testing that your guy will need to have done in advance, help you to locate owners of quality females who may be interested in working with you and help you devise an iron clad stud contract.
