Omygoodness what a terrible thing to have happen! I'm so sorry for that poor baby, for the pain your going through and for the pain the own is going through! That's a tough situation to be in! I think right now you want to make a bad situation right, but right now I think she may just need time. Maybe just wait and see what her husband says after he talks to her. Some people need another dog to help heal the pain of the loss, fill the whole that has been left, while others are passionate about not getting another dog because they feel it's replacing what they just lost.
