Just got off the phone with MARS and they said that the test only goes back to the grandparents which means there could have been mixing at the great grandparent level which is why there was a faint signal or that the breed that was mixed in isn't on the list of AKC registered dogs yet...she said there are so many more than what the test lists. I asked about ancestors that are extinct and she said that is not a possibility because it goes so far back it wouldn't show up on the test. It was more than likely the great grandparents.....She also said the test only shows 50% and won't show 80% or 65% so she could be 60% Yorkie and 40% something unknown and it won't be that specific.
