It is just about impossible to be sure that a dog isn't in pain because some try to hide it. She had a hysterectomy and I would be very opset that pain meds weren't offered. They can even make them sleepy which is good. I'd make sure her gums are pink and see the vet as soon as possible or at least call.

The vet told me to call if it got to the point where I thought she needed any pain meds, but since she's been playing and everything, I figured she wasn't in too much pain, and I was afraid that meds would upset her tummy more. You're right, though. I can't be 100% sure that she's not in pain.

I checked her gums and they're good and pink, and her nose is cold and wet. She hasn't been sick in a couple of hours, so hopefully it's ebbing. If she's still sick in the morning, however I will call the vet.
