Just give him some time, he may have had a bad experience with men in the past. It may take time for him to trust your husband. Maybe have your husband put his food down for him even if he has to put it down and walk away. The pup will probably come to trust him because that is where his food comes from. Not sure but it worked with my cat who was a stray. It took her a while to come near me, but she would always eat when i walked away. Now she is laying on my bed all curled up next to me. Now I can't get her away from me!!! LOL
