I can understand how you would feel even more protective of a rescue pup. They've just been through so much already, and why should they have to suffer anymore ill treatment? Particularly from your neighbour! It really surprises me that in this day and age, there are still people out there that don't understand how to treat animals properly. All living beings deserve a certain amount of respect. I am so proud of you for sticking up for your baby. That took guts, and now maybe next time he'll think twice before pulling a move like that.
