WELCOME TO YT!!! I use a wash cloth to wash my Yorkies' faces. I hold the ears down to the side of their head to wash the top so no water runs into the ear. I somehow have a feeling you are hearing a "clicking" sound when you rub around his ear. The vet may not have checked for fluid in the ear. I use VET Solutions - it is an ear cleasing solution that cleans, dries, acidifies, deoderizes and contains aloe vera. I clean the dogs ears with this every time before I bath them. I got it at the vet's office for $8.00, but it will last forever it seems. P.S. I also have a new little puppy about your puppy's age and I too am totally in love! Mine was born August 5th. When was yours born?
