What a cute story!!!
I've had large and small males and I've never seen one of them lift their front paw to go potty. My male shepard never lfted his leg to go all of his life. Could it be that he's going with such force it's getting on his front leg so that's why he lifts it? You've got to photograph him doing this it's got to be so cute.
