i've never had a male pup/kitty, but all of my girls spays were never that high. for cali, i want to say it was $400 - $450. this was for the spay, microchipping, teeth, anesthesia, etc. the anesthesia is more expensive, because our vet uses the gas type. it's much safer for your pup.
