Our Bella was a couple months old when we started getting concerned about her ears standing.We asked the vet about it and believe it or not she recommended a practice wich is used for larger dogs.She said to put a tampon in each ear and tape it up....lol.That is when I found a link on the net about just tapping.We tapped Bella's ears for about a month,changing the tape once a week.The info that we had never mentioned anything about keeping the hair trimmed to lighten the ears.Needless to say when we removed the tape for the final time her ears were definitely standing and appeared to be about twice as long as they should be(time for a hair cut).In my opinion the tape needs to stay on for more than just a couple of days to be helpful.The vet told us that we only had about a 20% chance of her ears staying up...glad she was wrong!
Bella is almost 2 years old now and her ears are standing just fine.I hope some of my mindless babbling has helped.
