I dont have Riley yet but I've already gotten him a cage (18x24) and a nice soft bed to put in it so he will be comfy
. I think crating is good
because I won't have to worry about him getting into things or having an accident on the carpet
while i'm asleep or unable to watch him like a hawk. When he gets older and has better bladder control I plan on giving him free reign of the house but the cage will always be his own little private place when he needs it
