If he's going on 11months, I don't think you should worry about him skipping a meal or two (if you're concerned about hypoglycemia). If they get hungry, they'll eat it. Mimi is very finicky. She'll eat something for a week (ex: kibble mixed w/green beans) & turn her nose on it the next. She'll hardly eat anything for a whole day or two (make mommy worry to death) & devour her food the next.
I found that NB Duck & (S)Potato isn't the most palatable kibble...mine didn't touch it. I requested samples from NB. I was feeding them Ultra & switched to Venison & Sweet Potato (they don't have the small bites version yet tho), they love it.
If you haven't tried already, try the NB rolls, just grate a little on top of his food, Lamb is good.
About mixing other things in their food, I do it all the time. I've had no problems having them eat w/nothing mixed in too. I think they appreciate something different once in awhile. I've tried plain boiled chicken breast, salmon, scrambled eggs, sweet potato (everything unsalted). |
