my dad uses one for his large dog and it works great. He knew what to do in the first day. But I'm not sure if they are suppose to be used on small dogs, especially one that small. I would get the really tall xpens. My roomate has a climber and she uses a really tall one that she can't get out of. ( and she usually gets out of everything)
