I understand your struggle with the drawing blood and having them on what seems to be an unneccesary medication. But, due to also the fact that we have tiny babies, if they ever do aquire heartworms it can be devastating and fatal to them. If your baby ever goes outside he or she has the exposure to aquire heartworms. I too have a problems with medications and treatments that aren't needed, but this is really one that is needed. Just think of it this way. Its one less thing you have to worry about your baby getting is heartworms if she is given a chew treat just once a month with the heartworm medication in it??? Is that too bad? Its just too common a problem in dogs and just too easy to prevent.
