All of mine know that when they go out and be a "good girl" -- and "good boy" they get a treat when they come in. They will sit by the door until I give them their treat. My dachshund is 16 years old and she still expects her treat. One day I was sort of busy and just let them in and went back to a chore I was in the middle of. About 1/2 an hour later I noticed good ol' Kate was still sitting by the door patiently awaiting her treat. She had been a "good girl" and she was not going to amble back to bed without it. Now Ben, my male Yorkie, would not wait so patiently, he would be reminding me with a sometimes not so gentle nudge of his nose on my leg. LOL!
