Vomiting, and you need to know the exact dosage, for their weight, and also when to give it. The first year they eat everything that lands on the floor, except they can be extremely fussy with their food. You give it for any type of poisoning, from chocolate to sugarless gum, to human medication. You don't induce vomiting if the substance they swallowed burns the esophagus tubes, such as gasoline. You also don't also induce vomiting if they have swallowed a solid object such as a penny, as this can cause choking. We used it on Christmas day, when Joey got a hold of one of those silica packets that come in luggage or purses that absorb moisture. The sooner you can cause them to vomit after they ingest the poisonous substance the better. I also recommend having the phone number of the vet, and the emergency hospital, right by the phone.
