i would definitely have your dog meet him first and see how they interact. it will be nice for your puppy to have someone to hang out with when you are not home.
and just something to consider because you don't want to put yourself in a bad situation. make sure that you will be financially ok taking care of two dogs if the dogs need emergency care or something expensive. i am just saying that because i have read a few posts recently about people having trouble paying for vet bills and wanted to remind you to consider this as well.
