I like the style of beach cruisers....I do not like how difficult they are to pedal. My bike is a beach cruiser style...with hand brakes and gears. Cost a around 150 bucks. I'm not doing tour de franc...it's fine. Some of the higher priced bikes...it's simply the matter of weight. Someone using a bike for racing wants ultra lightweight frames.

Oh no.. they are difficult to pedal? That probably wouldn't go so well in the city. I'd get run over.
