I have a dam with a 5 week old litter of 4 pups. Want some advice about the diet she should continue to be on while exclusively nursing her pups. Right now I have her on puppy kibble, some good quality wet food, chicken, scambled eggs and sometimes cottage cheese all mixed together. Is this a good combo to continue her on. She seems a little bored but eventually still eats well. She is a big Yorkie about 10 lbs.

Was going to start "gruel" last week but my vet said to continue to nurse exclusively as the pups are gaining good weight and she is producing enough milk. Plan to start to wean probably the end of next week when they will be 6 weeks old.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Her pups weigh from 1lb 10oz to 2lb 1 oz.
