I had always left dry food out all the time and then given canned food once a day. But little by little they were not eating as much of the dry, and Ben started to get a tartar buildup, so I decided to put them on all dry food. At first they rebelled and were not eating. I coerced a little with the hand feeding but I was not going to do that forever either. Eventually, they will eat it. I did take a spoon of canned and sort of wipe it around the dry, not really giving them enough to eat, but spreading the flavor of the canned but I only did that for a couple of days. They are not going to starve themselves just because they don't like the dry as much as the canned. They may try to hold out, but they will eventually eat it, especialy since you are going with a quality food. Just keep an eye on them for hypogylcemia if they are being stubborn.

I did let them taste test several dry foods. I let them pick by showing which they all ate better. Mine picked the Canidae. I can't get it local, but order it from petfooddirect.com.
