When she first meets another dog she will leap or strike like a snake as she barks. I'm sure she's scared and it's a protective thing, but wish she'd stop, as it is getting to be too much. We do have a few dogs that walk by our house that she knows now and is just fine with.

Sounds crazy but it works, Pick her up under your arm but towards your front and whatever you are looking at. Say the words Bad Dog in a firm voice when she stops barking put her down. Repeat as necessary. They are very social dogs it only takes a few times before they get it then all you will have to say is bad dog and she will stop
