Well, we are thinking it's about time to upgrade our carpet/linoleum to hardwood. Our house isn't old, maybe 6 years but they put cheap carpet in it and with our dogs and dh's always muddy boots, the carpet looks pretty bad
We have an open floor plan with two bedrooms, an office and bathroom on one side of the house, the living area and kitchen in the middle and the master bedroom and utility room on the other side of the house.
I am thinking of doing the hardwood all through the middle of the house and the hallways, and then keeping the carpet in the bedrooms.
Does anyone have any advice for me? What types of wood is best? What type of wood do you have? What about installation style and finish? Has anyone had them purchased/installed through Home Depot or Lowes? I really have just began looking, but am not sure of the best place to buy and type of floor to look at! Any advice????
