My husband was diagnosed in high school many years ago with a learning disability and his spelling is bad and he has trouble trying to explain thins some times. He never liked reading then about 10 years ago he got interested in anything Inca/Peru etc. He now reads everyday whenever he can. He never is without a book to read. He still reads alot slower than I do, but maybe if your BF found a subject he really liked it would help make reading easier. I am sure others on here will have some good advice.
