It sounds like you are doing everything you can to nourish her. I have read on here (and did this for our new puppy) that putting some article of clothing with your scent on it with her is comforting. Plus, I know when I was a child, people used to put a ticking clock wrapped in cloth in with their new puppies after weaning them. Supposedly the rhythm of the clock was soothing to the puppy and sounded somewhat like a heartbeat.
I think it's probably only natural that she is scared and frightened right now. I would keep up the feeding, etc. and let her do the approach as she feels secure. Surely her puppy curiosity will finally get the better of her! I would guess it could take several days.
I do know they sleep alot as puppies. Ours sprawls out and looks like road kill when she stops to rest/nap. Until I got used to her looking dead, I'd keep waking her up to be sure she was breathing!
Thank you for making/taking the time to post again to update us on her condition. I'm sure she'll begin to adjust more and more this week and soon will be shadowing each step you take! |
Thank you for your concern, I know it will take time all puppies are different. I will have to take the next couple of days off to stay home with her.
I only wish Teddy would want to play with her or something but, he just sniffs her and runs when I hold them both at the same time he starts shaking like he's scared. I'm sure that would help her get better faster.
The funny thing is that we decided on a new puppy because I started anew job and Teddy was home alone and depressed and would not eat anything until someone came home and he doesn't even want anything to do with her. I'm sure they'll warm up to each other he's just a little scared.
Thanks for the advice I'll try putting something of mine in her bed with her.
