I always fed canned food once a day and dry food available at all times. That worked well for me for a long time.... but one of mine decided she would just wait for the canned food. I wasn't giving them enough canned for a whole day so she started to lose weight. So, now they get no more canned. Now that she knows the canned won't come, she has gone back to eating a little dry here and there throughout the day again and gained her weight back.
Dry is best, and if they won't stay on track eating a combination, then I say go with dry. I always wanted to give them variety but I don't believe in only canned as they build up tartar too quickly. |
