Generally speaking all parts of the dandelion are edible.
However if he ate a boatload of that and other garden debris, his stomach may be hurting.
Just FYI, any member of the bulb family, onions, tulips, daffodils, crocus, lilies,etc, are poisonous to them. So do not let him get to those.
