Yesterday I only mentioned the word "carrot" as my husband was going to refill his glass and she followed and sat patiently until he gave her one. There was no other context for her to have known what was possibly going to happen because he is constantly filling his glass throughout the day.
(I don't think it would require a lengthy time out in the hall away from her. She'll probably be shocked at first that she's not the focal point of attention.) |
