I am still somewhat of a Yorkie newbie, but so far, I have been taking my four-month old Yorkie out after few hours during the day and once during the middle of the night. I schedule her feedings and take her out after eating. I got the Housetraining for Dummies book and use the schedule it suggests. So far, so good.
