Only in cartoons, books, or as chew toys. They don't make my skin crawl like the other guys, but they do worry me as I don't want to be stung. I have been stung right by my eye before amongst other places and it wasn't because I was intentionally threatening their lives.

I agree. Bats are big enough to deal with and easier to locate/target/trap as a result.
