I was just posting and said... "Cute as a bug", why do I say that? Bugs are not cute. Do you know of any cute bugs?

Which also brings me to.. snug as a bug in rug, now that is makes sense. Ok well it kinda makes sense. Maybe it does because I have only had a few hours sleep that it does but I think it does. So anyway, snug as a bug in a rug.... I figured the bug gets caught in the rug, so there he/she is... snug.

Am I alone in this? Does it make sense to anyone else why I or anyone else says "cute as a bug"?
