If you saw my Frankie post for Friday, we just got him. I agree with a lot said here. Pick the breeder, know the personality you need, look for good conditions and healthy dogs. They are all cute , but not every cute puppy is right for an individual. Good breeders want the right owner for one of their pups--the screening goes both ways. The right dog is a match made in heaven, the wrong one is like a bad marriage that you feel obligated to stay in.
