As a doggie day care employee, I would say that the earlier the better for socialization. As for the potty training, we have accidents all day on our small dog side even if their are no puppies in the group. I'm not sure how daycare would affect your training, but I can say that puppies REALLY benefit from daycare and we love to see them start young as it really helps them become well rounded and social dogs down the road.
