I thought about Sophie all night and talked to my hubby about her too bc I couldn't get her out of my mind. I just can't think of what happened . The few things that come to mind are that she got something stuck in her throat (but how/why did she whine/squeal?), or that she experienced some trauma like running into something very hard that caused her trachea to be injured - or a rib to puncture a lung - like maybe she ran into something or fell? I just don't know Sarah - but it's not been far from my mind since I read about it last night....bc I just don't understand it. Not that you want to drag things out, but sometimes a follow-up call w/ the vet can help you put things to rest - perhaps you could call and ask them, that since her heart was beating - what did they suspect and try? Could she have gotten into anything poisonous? Gum, candy?

I'm so sorry, hon.
