I don't know how much my puppy weighs, but she's really, really small. I would guess she's under a pound at 9 and 1/2 weeks. It is a bit worrying, I'm hoping she will grow over her predicted weight of 2,5ibs. Her teeth seem so small and her stomack is really tiny, so she cant eat regular dog food, as 3 granules fill her belly up and she stays hunry. instead the breader recomended cat food (for kittens form 3 to 6 months of age) mixed with egg yolk or soft-cooked weel and a dose of vitamines 3x a day (we let the granules sit in hot water for 30min and then mix them with 1/3 egg yolk or meet). she eats really small portions of food, but wakes up during night to eat, too. she should be eating 3x a day, but we just serve her meals and let her eat them when ever she wants. Other problem is that all her toys are bigger than her and don't get much of her attention. Other than following us aroud the house and trying to bite our fingers and toes she does not get much exercise. Today is her second day with us though, i'm expecting her to become a lot more playful as she grows and becomes more comrotable around us.
Everything else about her is completely normal. She plays like all other puppies, she's qute brave and adventurous, very curious, she sleeps in her own bed, she pees every 2-3 hours and always on her pee pee pad. She was not nervous about being carried around in a dog carrier, although she only saw us for the second time when we went to pick her up. she's not nervous either. she's a really happy puppy.
I wouldn't worrie to much. Just make sure she always has food and be careful not to step on her feet. also make sure you're arund if she's on the couch or wants to walk donw the stairs. |
