Mounting board is different than matting board. The mounting board is what you would apply the photo to, and matting board goes over the photos. I imagine some mounting board comes in black because pictures would look better over a black background. You won't always see mounting board on a framed picture, but you always see the mat. Ready-made mats are the way to go for lowest prices, and come in many sizes and colors. I would go to Michaels, they usually have a great selection, and you can probably get mounting boards there too. |
