I'm in an intro. to dig. photography class (almost over with.. thankfully!) and for our final we are matting (book mat-style) 6 prints.
Our teacher suggested buying this product (
Crescent White Rag Mount Board, .060, 11 x 14", 25 Pack - CT1225 - 2299.11) but I'm confused. Does anyone know why some of the mat board is black? I'm trying to buy something similar if I can- this package is double of what I need.
This might sound horrible, but does anyone think I could get away with buying premade mats and then fabricating the backs myself? I wouldn't mind cutting the mat board if I didn't have a phobia of razor blades.
