oh, I forgot to add, I do think it is important to have the pre blood work. If the SPCA is unwilling to do the pre blood work (which I don't see why they wouldn't do it) I certainly wouldn't have it done there. Especially with your yorkie being only 4lbs.

I just looked and the SPCA we went to actually requires blood work for dogs over 5 years old, and it is optional but recommended for all other dogs. So I would think your SPCA would have the same mindset.
