What I'm told is his parents were "overbred" and that when that happens they have a tendency to have puppies with genetic defects. I'm not a breeder, nor do I wish to be, so I don't know if that's true or not - its just what the rescue told me.
As for his legs - the reason being his little hips are almost too flexible, and so his little legs sorta fly out to the side. The taping is supposed to help prevent them from becoming dislocated. I hope to find out more when we meet with his previous vet this weekend, and then take his records to OUR vet to see if he jives with the other vet. Hopefully we can get a good treatment plan going for little Howie to make sure he doesn't have problems with those hips down the road.

I'm so happy that you chose him, and he's a lucky boy to have such a great new family Did the vet say what the purpose was for taping his legs like that? It looks awkward |
