I strongly believe they should always have pre-op bloodwork.

As far as the surgery, if YOU had a hysterectomy, would you think it was a simple surgery? Spaying is actually a major procedure. I'm sure the doctors at the SPCA are good at what they do. I just prefer to have a doctor I know and trust work on my babies. This is just my opinion.
