It was strong enough that I would automatically look down.

If I took a nap on the couch and he wanted my attention he would stand there staring at me. Well of course I could feel it and would wake up. Frequently after he died I would wake up expecting to see his face right in front of me.

We rescued him after he had been beaten by his owner causing a severe head injury. This caused him to have a seizure disorder. Well one day he walked up to me and just stood there staring. I stared back and really looked deeply into his eyes. I swear I heard thunder. Then I just knew that he was telling me what happens before he has a seizure. He was terribly afraid of thunder and after that I knew why.

I swear...this is the last story about him:
When he started going deaf I started teaching him sign language and started flipping the porch light on and off when I was calling him to come in from outside. It got to the point though that there were several commands that he followed just by my thinking them. Not all of it can be explained by his reading my body language.

He was a great dog. We only had him for a couple of years before he went into kidney failure and we had to put him down. But anyone who has owned a collie understands the mental picture I carry with me. In this picture he is standing in the back yard, he is freshly brushed and has a big ol collie grin on his face!
I loved these little stories. He sounds like he was an amazing dog. My parents own a collie and I have a collie that lives with my ex. I completely understand the collie grin.
