I was unsure of the idea myself. A few years back my moms dog got out (microchipped) and she was never found. After reading a thread on here about a 10 month old yorkie that is missing (Baylee) that made me think about getting Katie micro chipped. She was done yesterday with her spay. When my moms dog was lost we SHOULD HAVE contacted the company and informed them and maybe it would have had a positive outcome for her. On another note, I was told that if a pet had a micro chip implanted, they can NOT be used for experiments or research if stolen.
