I would recommend either a Nikon D40 or Nikon D90. I upgraded from the 40 to the 90. You can get a D40 package for around $500. HOWEVER, if you can swing it....I really would recommend you get the D90 if at all possible. My hubby got my pkg., including the 18-105mm VR lens, for about $1100 via Amazon. You will not be sorry w/ the D90.
