Petzlife works well for some and then some of us won't give it because it contains grain alcohol. To each their own... You could try one of those products but if you see any tartar progression or it gets worse, I would have them cleaned immediately.
I'd be very happy with your vet for catching this issue early.
Mild build-up can easily turn into something more and even though it is mild, the tartar and excess bacteria is very unhealthy.
Unless she needs extractions and xrays, that estimate is crazy.
I would hope it includes blood work but that is still too much.
