There are more scary noises outside at night and both of our dogs don't like to go out there. Cindy is 11 and was out with us when two large cats (black panthers, I saw them) were stalking something in the woods. They scream when they hunt and it sounds like a poor animal being torn apart. Cindy freaked and hid for hours and now wants no part of going outside at night. When Reesie gets comfortable it's hard to get her up and out. I catch her at 4am looking for a pee spot and try to get her to go on the pad.

The Michigan State Police Wildlife Department showed up a few days later after a neighbor called about the cats, and confirmed that they were looking for them. So that's another reason not to let Reesie out alone around here. I've never known a dog to be afraid of the dark but Cindy is.
