The weather here is perfect! Pack what you'd wear in the summer there. Maybe bring a sweater or sweatshirt for evenings...maybe not, being from up north you may not think it's too cool in the evenings.
When I first moved to Fl (25 yrs ago) I had a Residents pass & went ALL the time...now...no. So I can't help you there. However you MUST go to Cocoa Beach for a day (It's about 10 min from my house). Beautiful.
