I recently got a friend for Cash, who is two years old. Little June is 9 weeks now and they are happily playing together.
My advice would be: Try to introduce them before you bring the new baby into your home. Dogs can be territorial and this helps a lot.
Also, remember to always give your present dog attention, food and playtime first. You need to help establish the pack hierarchy to avoid dominance issues.
Buy an expen in which you can keep the new pup. This way, the new dog has a safe place to retreat to and your present dog can see her, smell her and interact with her without any danger to either dog.

Good luck. I am sure you and your present dog are going to be very happy. Just remember to be patient with them getting to know each other.
