Rudy just finished his Puppy Class last month. He spent the eight weeks of class lying on a towel, ignoring everything (or so I thought). He would do the walks on the leash very well, but as soon as we went back into the room, he just laid down and pouted. He might sit if he felt like it at class, but knew both the sit and down command perfectly at home. I almost didn't go to the final class as I thought it would be a waste of time. I changed my mind though, and we went for the final exam. This time we were in the room alone with the trainer. Rudy did his sit/stay and down/stay perfectly. We then did the come when called, not only did he come, but sat down on his own. Then he walked around and left all the toys on the floor on the Leave It command. I swear I was giddy and beaming with pride. Just as we entered back into the classroom, the trainer threw a handful of liver treats right in front of Rudy...of course, he went for them...until he heard the "Leave it" command...to my surprise, he walked right over them not giving them a second look. Both the trainer and I went "Yes!!!" at the same time. My little guy learned a lot in that class, and we are looking forward to enrolling in another class in the fall
