I've noticed that if you just leave them out in the open air (at least here in the desert anyways), they dry up even more than they are when they're new, and they don't look quite as disgustingly delicious. I know to keep them sealed in a ziplock, but would it also be good to keep them in the fridge? Or is that a dumb idea?

Yes, do keep them in the zip bag, but you can definately throw them in the freezer! That's a great way to store them. I do that with mine.
