I think the pin brushes are definately better at getting out the tangles. Nothing like a good boar bristle brush to bring up the shine, though. And you have to have a comb, regular and a flea comb for the face. So, I think it is good to have them all. I brush most of the time with the pin brush. But when I want to really show them off, I finish with a boar bristle brush.
