Lately I have been making him rice and ground beef which he will eat, but I don't think that is nutritious enough for him. He was staring to vomit and dry heave from not eating and that is why I decided to make him food. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks :-)
How old is he? I don't think he's a pup still, is he? If he's a pup, you may want to get him tested for a few things. But he's feeling well and his poos are okay, good energy?

If health is fine - then a few things to try (one at a time):

*sprinkle parmesan on his food
*mix a little cooked beef in w/ his kibble (but not more than 10-15% of overall diet)
*have 2 or 3 kibbles on hand and rotate them (like 2 chicken based, 1 beef)
*add canned to his kibble
*try raw
